I am really looking forward to it opening, and think it's appropriate to have such a building in Ottawa. I find it inspiring and inviting to reflexion and curiosity. The current central library and archives are both due for a refresh and more capacity. It will be a "jewel" for both OPL and LAC. Diamond Schmitt really can (and has) done some stunning work and I believe the OPL-LAC project is one that is fit for the city.

Though now, it seems the Feds will end up funding the Airport's contribution, which is understandable. Developers are funding 50% of the extension from Bowesville to Limebank, with the Province funding the other 50%. I imagine developers proposing new towers at Bayshore and Blair will fund their own connections to the respective stations. The City also seems to expect Brigil will eventually fund the Trim pedestrian bridge extension to the north side of the 174.

I understand why the Bank garage was built (replace some Lansdowne parking), but I guess they never anticipated that people don't like to, you know, walk. I like the Bramalea Station concept. Plug the garage to the station using the ped bridge. Honestly, all park and rides should be structures to reduce the amount of surface parking and maximize TOD at each station.

Parking structure would be a really smart idea. How about we take the Bank Street Parking lot and just move it over there? Not like anyone uses it! Seriously, I'd like to see something along the lines of what GO does in Toronto with Bramaela Station: a nice parking structure, really close to the station entrance and integrated. Of course the middle of the road placement of the station makes it a bit more painful but I'd rather see them build it as "one item" versus two seperate things...

I hope this parking structure could come with redevelopment of part of the Trim lot. I was hoping they would sell the entire parking lot to a developer with a condition that they would build a park-and-ride as part of the project.

I am not against this. The Trim park and ride lot is quite large and expansive, however if ridership does increase from those living in Rockland, etc... the lot capacity may not handle it indefinitely. There is nothing worse than arriving at a park and ride lot and not finding a spot to park, or having to circle indefinitely. I have never tried Trim but back in the day, the ones at Place d'Orleans were always full by the time I would arrive to try to use it. In that case, I would eventually give up and drive the rest of the way, unable to properly park my car where I had wanted to take the bus

Transportation Committee today, the City will ask the Province to build a parking structure at Trim Station to encourage commuters east of the city (Rockland, Clarence...) to park-and-ride instead of using the city's 174. The argument is that the Province I guess "owes" the City for downloading the 174 20-odd years ago.

And the connectivity enhancement study. For reference, uOttawa Station is 22.3 meters at its widest while the patch of grass where Queensview will be built is 27.5 meters. Neither the renderings or the connectivity study show a path going around the station on the north side, which explains the entrances on both sides. I think the City can build the station without expropriation. Some expropriation might be needed for the path between Leon's and ProSlide. Thank you David. The music is more an issue of money. I use Epidemic Sound for the music in the videos. It is a subscription based service in that as long as you are subscribed, any videos that are uploaded while the subscription is active are cleared for life. As I am not doing any videos that are using their music for the time being, it didn’t make sense to keep paying at this time for just adding music to the livestream.
