September 10, 20206 yr Mod Squad The only rubber-tired tram or otherwise in Colombia is the Ayacucho Tram in Medellin. This system, which opened in 2015, features 9 stations with 3 stations allowing connections to the Medellin Metro and the Metro Cable (gondola network). It is 4.3km in length. What makes it unique, other than the rubber-tires, is that it runs on open city streets, much like a streetcar, with overhead wire supplied power, but guided by a centre rail, rather than the typical twin rail system used in most rail systems. Quite an interesting system. Here is a video of it in operation (showing the exterior, interior and the cars themselves).
