August 23, 20188 yr Mod Squad This is the place to share observations and sightings that you see on the Confederation Line, Trillium Line and O-Train in general. From a different way than usual for train operations, to new equipment installed, out of the ordinary happenings, testing on the line, or photos you snap during the day, share them here.
August 30, 20188 yr Well, this is at least 5 years old, but there is this wonderful stitching error on some of Google Maps' satellite imagery:.
August 30, 20188 yr Author Mod Squad Cool find. The FLIRTs will still be longer, despite Google's best attempts.
September 23, 20188 yr Author Mod Squad If anyone has been out this weekend, any spottings of the trains along the line?
September 25, 20188 yr Made a flyover video for Line 2 (Trillium Line): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQMOlo8mamQ
September 25, 20188 yr Author Mod Squad Great video Reece. Thank you for putting it together and sharing.
October 2, 20188 yr Author Mod Squad The City of Ottawa released a Confederation Line update memo today. You can consult it here: https://www.otrainfans.ca/blogs/o-train-confederation-line-project-update-october-2-2018 Important notes from the memo are as follows: Major milestone reached on September 11, 2018 when a train completed the first end-to-end run by traveling between Tunney's Pasture to Blair Station. Train movement and testing has begun in the downtown tunnel. Automatic Train Operation is operating and in use on the eastern track. Expanding to the western tracks and tunnel sections soon. The city continues to monitor and track the project but there is currently no change from the update provided at FEDCO on September 10, 2018. As a result, no update to the Revenue Service Availability Date at this time.
October 30, 20188 yr From my window I spotted this down near Pimisi station.. any idea what they are up to? Looks like a giant drill.
November 1, 20188 yr Author Mod Squad Hello @WRXRated. Welcome to the forums. I can't really tell what is going on. I do know they are finishing the landscaping around the station and doing work on both tunnel portal sites, so perhaps it is related but it does seem a bit of a distance from the actual track and station. Really don't know. I haven't been able to go by up close to Pimisi lately so if you have any further pictures that are closer we may be able to speculate a bit further.
November 7, 20187 yr The past couple weekends I have seen maintenance (?) crews walking the line inbetween Hurdman and Lees, surprised how little train testing I have actually seen recently to be honest. Will be going through Hurdman tomorrow around noon, interested to see if there will be any testing or not. -Charie
January 8, 20197 yr Author Mod Squad The construction hoarding for the interior entrance to Lyon Station from Place de Ville underground concourse has been down for several months now, but the windows had been covered by white paper and cardboard. No longer. Here are some shots taken today of the entrance, as well as what lays beyond. As you can see the double door leads into a small entrance way that heads to the right, through another set of doors. From there a 180 degree turn, and then a right turn to lead up the hallway to the main station area.
March 15, 20197 yr Mod Squad Really glad they went with “warmer” LEDs for the lighting. Especially in the case of uOttawa station, it gives a beautiful cathedral lighting effect, unlike “cold” LED lights. Also, the public art installation at uOttawa is finally uncovered. Looks like a big cube. ? I’ll see if I can get a decent picture on my way home. Also, it seems like they are starting to test the PA systems, and next train systems. Think I heard station announcement earlier, but not entirely sure. First photo is as of today, from the FSS building second floor (facing south), second picture is from January this year, also of uOttawa station (facing north).

If you mean the glowing white box, that's a standard feature at all stations. It's where they display the name of the station, but I don't think they've finalized how they'll do that yet. I think the public art installation at uOttawa is all the portraits on the walls of the tunnel underneath the station.

Here's what it should look like. Sorry about the terrible image quality but it's the only one they had in the public art documentation for uOttawa.
